Seaboard Triumph Foods starts the year with a donation to the United Way of Siouxland

Sioux City, Iowa (Feb. 14, 2018) – Seaboard Triumph Foods (“STF”) has started the year by donating $50,000 to the United Way of Siouxland. The United Way of Siouxland provided more than 50,000 services last year through 83 local programs focusing on health, education and financial stability.

“We are extremely thankful for the commitment that Seaboard Triumph Foods has made to United Way of Siouxland. This contribution will help support critical programs serving people right here in our community every day,” says Heather Hennings, President of the United Way of Siouxland. “The investments made in United Way provide long-term opportunities and a hand-up. We’re happy to welcome a new partner to the United Way family to support our work.”

The donation to United Way of Siouxland kicks off a year of giving for Seaboard Triumph Foods and its employees. Each year, STF contributes over $200,000 to various local organizations and just last year, STF donated more than 40,000 pounds of Prairie Fresh pork to Operation BBQ Relief (OBR). OBR provides hot meals to those who have been affected by disasters. With STF’s fresh pork donation, OBR was able to serve over 100,000 hot meals to those affected by Hurricane Irma in Florida.

“We are committed to being a leader in the Siouxland community, the place we call home. It’s an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to support local organizations, such as United Way of Siouxland,” says Tori O’Connell, Communications Coordinator for Seaboard Triumph Foods. “Organizations like these make a real difference locally and around the country.”
